More than 12 months after celebrating its world debut at last year’s Tokyo Motor Show, the Mitsubishi eX Concept has made an appearance at the LA Auto Show, marking its North American premiere.

The sub-compact SUV concept is tipped to eventually morph into an EV by the end of the decade as a rival to the Nissan Juke, slotting just below the Mitsubishi ASX. Although it remains unclear how much of the design will be retained for the production model, the concept has certainly been turning heads in the City of Angels.

As with the initial concept from Tokyo, this one is painted in the same bright shade of electric yellow and features an edgy design highlighted by the bold front-end which the automaker dubs the ‘Dynamic Shield’.

It also includes four very sleek looking doors, tiny wing mirrors, impossibly huge wheels and a tapered rear fascia closely reflecting the front end.
