New Audi A7 First Photos, Watch The Reveal Live Here At 1:00PM EST

The first images of the new 2018 Audi A7 Sportback are here, with the online presentation of the car that starts at 1:00PM EST (North America) or 7:00PM CET (Europe) that you can watch here right after the jump.

While overall, design changes on the outside aren’t as dramatic as you’d expect from a brand new model (albeit totally expected from Audi), beneath its skin it makes use of the MLB Evo platform, the same one used on the latest Q5 and Q7. The architecture allows the new Audi A7 Sportback to drop several pounds compared to the outgoing model, and it also opens up the possibility of adding a variety of powertrains.

“In the new Audi Design Center in Ingolstadt, Audi is to present the sporty side of the luxury class: the new A7 Sportback. With this four-door coupe, Audi is keeping the design promise previously seen in the prologue studies. The Gran Turismo is the essence of the new Audi design language”, Audi said in a few words.

We’ll have the full details on the new Audi shortly, so stay tuned…

  • WTF

has anyone been in the new A8 is all that glossy Black trim just plastic? It looks cheap Im guessing its like glass or something though?

    • botornot387

its not cheap, its piano black lacquer. it is however a fingerprint nightmare

      • exeptor

Agree – not cheap, but it is definetely a forensic heaven.

      • Enter Ranting

Piano black lacquer on wood? Why? Or is it really just plastic? And why is it on every new car on sale today?

  • Adi

It’s weird that A7 will be revealed before A6. Like A6 is the “original” and A7 is derived from it.

    • Sébastien

      but it’s more upmarket

    • botornot387

renderings of the A6 almost make it look more promising.

  • Sébastien

Those two sensors/LIDAR in front grille… That’s promizing

looks better than expected, but the interior looks a little stale in this photo. the beige interior doesn’t really do it justice. beige is such an awful color to have for an interior. i wish Audi would venture out more with color on interiors, especially on a model with sporting intentions from a brand that as sport as one of its core competencies. Make red seats an option, even on this A model, not just a jump up to the other trims.

  • Cupboi

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, i guess. Just a shame about the rear-end…

  • OdysseyTag

Love the sharp and aggressive direction. Almost as if it were designed with a sword.

    • WTF

or back in the 90s lol

  • Why not change the front mask?
The modified rear looks amazingly fresh

  • Nordschleife

I was hoping for a thinner center band for the taillights. it’s a little wider than I thought it would be but everything else looks as expected.

  • Charles Lane

stop putting fake exhaust on all your cars audi. This though better than the hideous SQ5 is still quite bad.

    • Enter Ranting

The fake exhaust goes with the fake grilles in the front. It’s sporty!

  • Marshall Boyce

Wow this is significantly better looking than I thought it would be.

  • ediotsavant

Audi needs a new head designer. Lately there cars are barely distinguishable from the previous ones.

  • Mark S

Yawn! Yet another cold knock off of the previous version, time to step it up Audi.

  • Craig

A missed opportunity. It should have been a hatchback.

  • Auf Wiedersehen

    Hmmmm…I dunno…kinda odd looking.

  • Subi-Rubicon1

    Meh, cool new rear lamps…

  • thunder bolt

feel sorry for those who waited at the press conference. They could have spent all that time jerking off in the bathroom and still won’t miss a thing.

    That rear end tho…..

  • alexxx

I think I just became an Audi fan( I am a BMW fan)….this is awesome…first Audi in long time that I like…really really surprised….

  • TheToadPrince..~~ToadSquad

no interior shots…nothing?the back looks like the genisis..good job on the exterior tho!
