Remember the first Taxi movie from 1998? Written by Luc Besson and starring a white Peugeot 406 sedan? Yeah, we know you do.
It was fast and furious way before The Fast and The Furious, providing us with lots of fun chase sequences.
Besson provided the script for all the other movies in the franchise, including the fourth one, which came out in 2007 – that’s when the Peugeot 406 was ditched in favor of the newer 407.
For the fifth installment, the 407 is still in the mix and judging by this trailer, it’s going to get into a lot of trouble while navigating its way through multiple humorous situations – this is after all a comedy.
As for the story line, it’s about a Marseille police officer who “gets assigned to take down a group of Italian robbers who drive powerful Ferraris.”
Taxi 5 is being produced by Luc Besson and directed by Franck Gastambide, who also worked on the script and will be starring in the movie as well.
