Jamie Barrow has set a new Guinness World Record for the traveling the fastest on a snowboard while being towed by a vehicle.

The record was set on a frozen lake in St Moritz, Switzerland when Barrow was towed by a Maserati Levante. During his first run, Barrow hit speeds of 151.57 km/h (94.18 mph) but his return run maxed out at 147.72 km/h (91.78 mph). As a result, his average time was 149.65 km/h (92.98 mph) which beat the previous record of 99.87 km/h (62.05 mph).

In order to get the impressive results, the Levante was equipped with Pirelli Scorpion winter tires which each feature 474 separate studs. The course was also groomed by piste bashers to ensure Barrow had smooth course and could obtain higher speeds than his previous attempt.

In a statement, Barrow said “I’m absolutely delighted to have broken my own record. I always knew there was much more speed possible with the right conditions and crucially the right car to tow me.”

The Levante is one of Maserati’s best-selling vehicles and it features a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine which produces 350 PS (257 kW) and 500 Nm (368 lb-ft) of torque. Customers looking for something more powerful can opt for the Levante S which has 430 PS (316 kW) and 580 Nm (427 lb-ft) of torque.

In certain markets, Maserati also offers a 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 with outputs of 250 PS (183 kW) and 275 PS (202 kW).

The company is also working on a high-performance Levante GTS which is expected to use the twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8 engine that resides in the Quattroporte GTS. It produces 530 PS (389 kW) and 710 Nm (523 lb-ft) of torque.
