Vauxhall Adds More Standard Tech And New Euro 6.2 Engines To Corsa Range

Vauxhall has both updated as well as simplified its top-selling Corsa range, as the model now comes with new Euro 6.2 compliant engines, a total of seven trim levels and integrated sat-nav as standard on top-spec versions.

Pricing starts from £11,250 OTR, which will land you the entry-level Active model. Other specs include Design, Energy, Sport, SRi Nav, SE Nav and the flagship SRi VX Nav Black.

Also new to the range are the 1.4-liter Euro 6.2 compliant petrol units, which can be paired with either a five or a six speed manual, as well as with an automatic transmission. According to the automaker, the new engines can achieve up to 50.4 mpg (5.6 l/100km), with CO2 emissions rated at 128g/km.

A more techy supermini

The new Corsa range now features more tech as standard on certain trims. While Design specs get air conditioning as standard, all models upwards of the SRi Nav gain the Navi 4.0 IntelliLink touchscreen navigation and infotainment system.

There’s also a new Lux pack available, as long as you opt for the SE Nav trim. Its price is £1,550 and in return you get 17-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, a rear view camera, tinted rear windows, single zone climate control and more.

UK buyers can already order an updated Corsa from their nearest Vauxhall retailer.

Hloy moly, for a sec I thought a 6.2 liter in a supermini, that would have been very interesting.

This thing is that old they should do a special edition called Carbon Dated.

I was about to say ‘it’s not that old!’, but you’re right, it’s been around since 2006, and isn’t going to be replaced until 2019 at the earliest, by which time it’ll have been on the market for 13 years. And to think people were criticising the Rover 25 for being prehistoric at the tender age of 10.

I’m currently driving one on holiday. It’s not exactly spoiling things but it’s trying hard to. The most gutless engine, I think the 1.2 motor.
Sitting in it evokes memories….of the Punto that was on my work’s fleet, 10 years ago!

A friend of mine learned to drive in a 1.2 Corsa, and decided that she never wanted to set foot inside another one as long as she lived, primarily because every second car you see on the road around these parts seems to be a 2012 Corsa 3-door in a lurid colour.

She ended up buying a Punto.
