As if going on a blind date wasn’t stressful enough, Citroen figured that being driven at speed around a rally stage would make the experience more unique.

The French automaker thus created an ultimate version of “speed dating”, giving couples the chance to get to know each other while being driven around the Brands Hatch rally stage in a Citroen C3 with WRC driver Craig Breen behind the wheel.

The activities took place to celebrate the return of Channel 4’s First Dates Hotel on August 28th, to witch Citroen is a broadcast sponsor.

“The partnership between Citroen and First Dates is a perfect match, as we share so many of the same values. We were keen to help create a fun new First Dates experience, and with the help of our Citroen C3 WRC driver Craig Breen, and First Dates’ waitress CiCi, we feel we’ve succeeded in giving three couples a chance to find love on dates they will never forget,” stated Citroen UK marketing director, Souad Wrixen.

“We’re enjoying working with Citroen to activate their broadcast sponsorship beyond the TV screen. This content, created for the brand’s own platforms, is a great extension combining both First Dates’ and Citroen’s assets to deliver a series of truly unique and entertaining films,” added Channel 4 exec, Emma Derrick.

While the couples were entertained by the high-speed driving (at least some more than others), the vehicle used by Breen was a regular 5-door Citroen C3, and not the 2018 C3 WRC racer.
