New Hyundai Venue Leaked: Mini-Me Santa Fe To Go After Nissan Kicks

These are the first images of the new Hyundai Venue, the Korean automaker’s latest and smallest crossover model that’s set to debut at the New York Auto Show on April 17.

The leaked photos of the new Hyundai Venue first appeared on a number of outlets from India, leading us to believe that this is local market example. The photos partially reveal the front fascia, the wheels and the rear end, along with a quick look at the dashboard.

The front end treatment reminds us more of the bigger Santa Fe and less of the compact Kona, while the rear adopts clean lines and sports the Venue badge in the middle of the tailgate, just like the official teaser.

As for the ‘Turbo’ logo on the corner, it most likely indicates the use of the brand’s turbocharged 1.0-liter T-GDI three-cylinder petrol engine. This powertrain is expected to be combined with both a manual and a dual-clutch automatic transmission, at least in markets like India and Europe.

The dashboard follows the familiar Hyundai lines, with the infotainment system’s touchscreen display sitting between the air vents, an information display inside the instrument cluster and a three-spoke, leather-wrapped steering wheel.

The new Hyundai Venue will be positioned under the Kona as the brand’s smallest crossover ever to reach the US, going after models like the Nissan Kicks. Being the entry point in Hyundai’s SUV range, it will probably be available in front-wheel drive guise only.

Hyundai will lift the veil off the new Venue at the upcoming New York Auto Show, but we’ll stay vigilant in case anything new pops up until then, so stay tuned.

interesting. now lower your prices Hyundai, all your vehicles are over priced. (when you add options people want)

  • timii

Wait do I see “SX” turbo? I didn’t know I was looking at a Kia Soul.

  • Paul

I don’t like the lighting, it looks dumb like the Jeep Cherokee before the refresh fixed it.

    • bd0007

The way the Cherokee did it was dumb; actually looks good on the Santa Fe and Blazer.

Mixed on Citroens (which started doing it first; not counting a Hyundai concept).

        and some mitsubishis

  • bicepeak

The Nissan Kicks is the same size as the Honda HRV , and both are bigger than the Kona. The Venue is supposed to slot below the Kona, so how would that be going against the Kicks?

    • White Boi Goon

do your research then comeback here.

    • bd0007

Expect the next Kona (and the next Tucson) to get a little bigger.

      • bicepeak

Probably….but the Kona is new and an enlargement is years down the road. Of course, that doesn’t change the point that the Kicks is not in the same segment as the Venue.

Hyundai just getting uglier and uglier

    • .. EL CHAPO THA GREAT 🤴🏻

Who cares about style . It’s all about reliability kid.

      • Jawohl

You are right…if you own a bottom feeder brand like the Koreans. Good point!

        • Galaxium

Fifth biggest manufacturer in the world. Too big to be “bottom feeder” buddy.

Strong reliability scores from the rating agencies as well. Nice try.

          • Jawohl

They are a bottom feeder brands as they build budget priced vehicles marketed at budget buyers

          • Galaxium

That’s really weird to say when Hyundai/KIA average final transaction cost is in-line or above in every segment.

It’s more funny that if you think H/K are bottom feeders, then what does that make Nissan? Or Mitsubishi? H/K have built up strong reputation, stronger than Japanese brands, in newer markets now.

          • Jawohl

Yeh I would put Mitsi and Nissan with Hyundai and Kia in the bottom feeder segments also. Kia prices are almost the lowest out of all brands

          • Jawohl

Also im not sure what you are smok8n when say h/k prices are inline or above in every segment.
Eg : RAV4 msrp is from $25,500. Tucson is from $23200
            CH-R from $21,000. $Kona $19990
            Corolla $19500. Elantra $ 17200
            Yaris $15450. Accent $14996
But don’t let these facts ruin your complaining

        • .. EL CHAPO THA GREAT 🤴🏻

That’s your opinion. Only roaches as yourself would say something like that due to lack of research.

          • Jawohl

            Some never learn….

  • IFDU

This needs to stop. There should be no crossover/ “SUV” segment below the sizes of the CR-V, RAV4, Tucson, etc. Keep it simple and stop with the “smaller than the smallest” bull.

    • Alduin

I find the renegade/compass,trax/encore,ecosport,kicks,juke,HR-V to be completely pointless and I agree. These micro SUVs have zero space in them and no practicality.

  • Benjamin B.

Yes this “SUV” is just a hatchback. It won’t even be available with 4WD. Kia markets the Soul as a SUV too. Seriously? These are hatchbacks. What makes a hatchback a crossover? It’s not very capable. The regular Corolla Hatchback model has more ground clearance than the C-HR. That has high rideheight in the name. But the regular Corolla actually is more off-road capable. It also uses an updated engine and transmission options.

    • Zandit75

Don’t come in here with your well laid out arguments!!! We’ll have none of that around here!!!

  • no25

The plus sign grille is so bad. Looks like it’s warped already even though it’s just the way it reflects light. And great, another tablet slapped onto the air vents by another brand…

  • Hamster

ha ha… is that kia Ceed Interior? Now manufacturers decided to share the complete interior between brands?

  • Socarboy

The CUV segment is getting way too micro managed these days this thing is basically going to cannibalize sales of the Kona and Tuscon IMO

  • Wayne Alan Carr Heyes

    Omg it looks awful!!!!!!!!

And the inside looks a lot like a KIA
