Hyundai dealerships across the United States will offer Lyft rides to customers getting their vehicles serviced at dealerships.
The New York Times reports that dealerships who subscribe to the Hailer service developed by digital marketing solutions provider CDK Global will be able to order rides for customers.
When a Hyundai vehicle is being inspected or serviced at participating dealerships, the dealer will be able to easily and quickly order a Lyft ride for the owner. The service will either be provided free of charge or at a cost which is automatically added to the customer’s service bill.
“Hailer provides dealerships with greater efficiencies,” executive vice president and chief product and technology officer of CDK Global, Mahesh Shah said. “We are excited that Hyundai is providing its customers with Lyft convenience at participating dealerships with CDK Drive, while affording its dealers seamless backend integration. We look forward to enabling improved customer experiences through this comprehensive dealer solution.”
Hyundai vice president Barry Ratzlaff added that owners don’t even need to have a Lyft account or the ride-hailing application installed on their own smartphone to enjoy the service.
“Our customers are going to really like the convenience of Lyft. Hyundai dealers who are already using Hailer have reported a smooth integration allowing them to call Lyft rides for their customers. Customers can now easily get on with their day while the inspection or service work is being performed on their car,” he said.
Lyft has been partnering with a number of different companies in recent months since hitting the NASDAQ earlier this year. Last week, it announced a partnership with Agero Inc to provide rides for consumers with cars needing tow assistance.
