Cadillac Marketplace Now Allows You To Find, Book And Pay For Parking

Cadillac is out to make parking less of a chore by adding a new capability to its Marketplace in-vehicle commerce platform.

Eligible Cadillac drivers can locate, reserve and pay for parking even before reaching their destination using their in-vehicle touchscreen. The new capability is powered by ParkWhiz, an Arrive company.

he first thing users have to do is set up a ParkWhiz account online or through the ParkWhiz mobile app. The account will include preferred payment method and vehicle details such as make, model, and license plate number.

Once set up, the ParkWhiz account can be linked by users within Cadillac Marketplace. This will allow them to find nearby parking options, see details about the lot or garage, book parking, and access the entry/exit parking pass using the vehicle’s touchscreen.

“Cadillac’s new parking experience in Marketplace enables drivers to enjoy the journey without wondering where they will park when they reach their destination,” said Scott Goddard, Marketplace line of business leader, Cadillac. “This is another example of how Cadillac is integrating technology that elevates the driving experience,” the representative added.

ParkWhiz has thousands of spaces available in more than 250 cities across the United States. GM launched Marketplace in December 2017 in connected Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac vehicles and has added new merchants ever since. The commerce platform is available on nearly 325,000 properly equipped 2017-2020 model year Cadillac vehicles.

I cannot believe that’s actually a Cadillac interior.

I was about to say the same exact thing. I cannot fathom how much of a joke Cadillac has become through their decisions and designs.

EDIT: also what model is this?

It sure is more elegant than Tesla’s approach of “Let’s slap an i-Pad in the middle and call it a day” design ethos.

I hate Tesla too- in and out. But this Caddy’s interior looks like a minivan from 15 years ago.

It’s personally not my cup of tea, but I’ve been seeing numbers comments regarding vehicles ‘appearing to be from (x-number) of years ago‘, especially in this case, a minivan. Do people (in general) not remember what vehicles we like, 15 years ago, let alone 10.

In all honesty, this is ‘S-Class good’ from less than 10 years ago. I suppose it is in the eye of the beholder, but we have certainly come a long way from ‘minivans from 15 years ago’.
