The first units of the Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit have arrived at Aussie dealerships. The SUV starts at AUD $84,450 (USD $57,840), plus on-road costs, and is the plusher version in the range.
On the outside, it stands out courtesy of the Platinum Package, which adds chrome appointments to different parts. It also features LED fog lamps, dual trapezoidal exhaust tips, body-colored side sill cladding, wheel arches, side mirror caps and door handles and 20-inch alloy wheels.

The cabin is further enhanced by the suede-like headliner, berber cargo and floor mats, backlit ‘Summit’ sill plates, NaturaPlus soft leather seats and a suite of standard gear. The latter counts the 8.4-inch Uconnect infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a Harman Kardon audio, active noise cancellation and a panoramic sunroof. Optionally, customers can order Laguna quilted leather seats with contrast stitching and a rear-seat entertainment system.
A suite of safety systems, such as the front and rear parking sensors, reversing camera, forward collision warning plus, lane departure warning plus, rear cross path detection, blind spot monitoring, park assist, brake assist and adaptive cruise control, also come as standard.
Powering the 2019 Grand Cherokee Summit is a 3.0-liter V6 diesel that kicks out 247 HP (250 PS) and 570 Nm (420 lb-ft) of torque, paired to a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission with low-range and permanent four-wheel drive system with Rock, Snow, Mud, Sand and Auto driving modes. Finally, the air suspension allows users to choose between five ride heights.
