Man Arrested For Doing Donuts On Trump’s New Jersey Golf Course

The Trump National Golf Course in Bedminster, New Jersey is one of the President’s favorite destinations, but it recently came under attack by a 26 year old in a Ford Focus.

According to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office, Richard McEwan caused significant damage to the property on at least two different occasions.

The first incident occurred on September 3rd at approximately 5:30 pm, when an employee called police stating that someone in a sedan was doing donuts on top of the 11th hole. The car was gone by the time police arrived, but estimates suggest the stunt caused more than $10,000 (£8,110 / €9,083) in damage.

A few days later, on September 8th, police were once again called to the golf course as car was spotted doing donuts on the 13th hole. This time the driver caused between $7,000 (£5,677 / €6,358) and $9,000 (£7,299 / €8,175) of damage.

While McEwan managed to escape for a second time, police were able to obtain a partial license plate number. This, combined with eyewitness testimony, lead authorities to McEwan and his 2006 Ford Focus.

He was arrested without incident and is now facing charging of 3rd Degree Criminal Mischief. According to the website of New Jersey attorney William Ware, that carries a potential prison sentence of up to five years.

There’s no word on McEwan’s motivations, but a spokesperson for the Trump Organization told CNN he would be “prosecuted to the full extent of the law.” If that wasn’t bad enough, NJ.com reports McEwan is also facing charges in Rhode Island for breaking into a home owned by singer Taylor Swift.

Real scumbag. Have your opinions, but tearing up a golf course and breaking into someone’s house is inexcusable. He SHOULD be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the given charges.

  • Mr. EP9

What a bum. And he also pulled a stunt in Rhode Island too? Yeah, you’re going to jail.

He should come to Fast & Furious audition, make his “talent” to be more useful, instead of using it for destroying somebody else’s property.

The damage amount is probably exaggerated like every thing else that comes out of his mouth.

I’m a firm believer in restitution as well, but something tells me he’d be a terrible worker. It’d be like putting a sloth to work.

I get what you mean and I mostly agree but maybe if we have a system can be devised that the length of the sentence is directly related to performance of the job, a little incentive if you will.

Maybe William Barr can throw a party at Bedminster to cover the damages.
