If you want a sedan with extraordinary levels of power that won’t send you bankrupt, it’s hard to find a better car than the new Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody.
Dodge has been building the current Charger since 2011 – and in the automotive world that makes it absolutely ancient. Yet, much like the Challenger, Dodge has somehow been able to gradually update and refine the vehicle over the years to consistently improve it, with the SRT Hellcat Widebody being the craziest variant built to date (alongside the limited-edition Daytona 50th Anniversary Edition).

Power comes from the company’s 6.2-liter supercharged V8 with 707 HP and 650 lb-ft (881 Nm) of torque, making it the most powerful mass-produced sedan on the market. Dodge quotes an impressive 0-60 mph (96 km/h) time of 3.6 seconds, a quarter-mile time of 10.96-seconds, and a top speed of 196 mph (315 km/h). These figures are seriously impressive – plus they make you wonder how much faster the Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody could launch off the line if it featured an all-wheel drive system like the BMW M5 and Mercedes-AMG E 63 S.
Perhaps the most appealing aspect of the car, alongside its performance, is the very reasonable starting price of $69,645. That’s a steal compared to the prices of the M5 and E 63 S that stretch into the six-figure range. Of course, the Charger is nowhere near as comfortable, refined or luxurious as its German counterparts, something that is particularly evident in its outdated interior.
