With less than 24 hours left for the new Genesis GV80’s official premiere in full, another batch of photos sourced from Korea have hit the web (thanks to our reader Terry for sharing!). At this point, there’s not much left to the imagination, though we’re still waiting on detailing regarding the North American specification model that will arrive later this year. [Updated 1/14/20]

The long-awaited 2020 Genesis GV80 has been teased, previewed -and now – leaked (again) too, just ahead of the global unveiling on January 15th.

The two teaser videos shared by the South Korean automaker on YouTube ask “When was the last time you’ve experienced something for the first time?” before offering a glimpse of the GV80 kicking up sand on a beach and introduced as “the first SUV by Genesis.”

While neither of these two teaser videos provide us with a look of the SUV, a video from 3D Nori does, showcasing a 3D model of the vehicle based on recently-leaked images. The most intriguing exterior elements of the GV80’s design are the split headlights and taillights, previewed by the GV80 Concept back in 2017 and set to also be adopted by the facelifted G80 sedan.

Genesis GV80: First Official Photos And Details Of Luxury SUV Ahead Of January 16 Debut (Updated)

Photos previewing the interior of the GV80 have revealed that it will be much more modern than the G80 and G90 and come complete with a widescreen infotainment display sitting on the dashboard. There will also be a digital instrument cluster and a two-spoke steering wheel.

Underpinning the Genesis SUV will be a rear-wheel drive platform with all-wheel drive available as an option. In South Korea, the GV80 is tipped to be initially sold with a six-cylinder 3.0-liter turbo diesel delivering 274 hp and 434 lb-ft (589 Nm) of torque coupled to an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Not long after this engine is introduced, a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 300 hp and 311 lb-ft (422 Nm) of torque will be added to the range alongside a 3.5-liter turbocharged V6 with 375 hp and 390 lb-ft (530 Nm) of torque. The two gasoline engines are believed to be offered in North America.
