The Buick Cascada was the brand’s first convertible in 25 years, but it was a slow seller that wasn’t very memorable.

However, long before the Cascada, there was the Buick Reatta. Essentially a more mainstream version of the Cadillac Allante, the Reatta was a stylish two-door which was offered as a coupe and convertible.

We’re talking about it today as a low mileage model has surfaced on eBay. Looking like it just rolled off the assembly line, this 1990 Reatta is in remarkable condition considering it’s 30 years old.

The interior is also immaculate as the white leather seats look like they’ve never been sat on. While we’re not digging the contrasting red accents, the car features a digital instrument cluster. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have the touchscreen infotainment used on earlier cars.

Like many GM vehicles of the era, the Reatta was powered by a 3.8-liter V6 engine. According to Wikipedia, it produced 165 hp (123 kW / 167 PS) and 210 lb-ft (284 Nm) of torque.

While used Reattas aren’t too valuable, the seller is asking $35,000 (£28,393 / €31,511). That’s pretty pricey, but there are a number of reasons for this.

Besides being in great condition, the car is a rare Select 60 edition. According to the seller, Buick awarded its top 60 dealers with a special Reatta that featured a two-tone interior as well as special color-keyed wheels. An additional five models were built for Buick executives and this means only 65 were ever made.

If that’s not special enough, this particular car resided in the GM Heritage Collection for almost two decades. It was then sold in 2009 with just 100 miles (161 km) on it.

The car traded hands a couple of times since then, but was rarely driven by its subsequent owners. As a result, the Reatta only has a 1,000 miles (1,609 km) on the odometer and this likely means it’s the lowest mileage Reatta in existence.
