A bespoke 1968 Porsche 911 converted to electric power is available through a sweepstakes to help benefit the Petersen Automotive Museum.
The electric Porsche has been built by a company named Zelectric who got its start outfitting classic VW Beetles with electric powertrains. This particular ’68 911 no longer features a rear-mounted engine and instead has the electric motor from a Tesla Model S P85 and reportedly pumps out more than 500 hp.
While we don’t have any weight figures on hand for the car, it doesn’t take a genius to work out this thing would be an absolute weapon (…or a true widow-maker) to drive and could be quite a handful with all that instantaneous torque.

Zelectric has retained the car’s original Irish Green paint scheme and from the outside, it looks like any other 911. The charging port has even been hidden beneath the rear license plate.
Quite a lot of work appears to have been spent altering the interior of the German sports car. There is a new dashboard with carbon fiber trimmings, a three-spoke steering wheel, a touchscreen display, and heated leather racing seats. The car also features a solar panel, upgraded sport suspension, drilled disc brakes, a Bluetooth sound system with Alpine speakers, and LED lighting.
