The 8C Competizione is arguably one of the best-looking Alfa Romeos ever made, but if you were faced with taking a decision, would you take the Italian mistress instead of something else, like say, a McLaren 675LT Spider?

In today’s market, both of them have a similar value of roughly $200,000 to $300,000, and the ones listed for sale by RMSothebys for the Amelia Island auction on March 6-7 make no exception.

The Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione

Available here, the 8C Competizione dates to 2008 and is one of 500 ever made, including 84 US-spec examples. It was displayed in the Riverside International Automotive Museum for many years, until it was sold in 2016. The odometer reads just 3,624 miles (5,832 km) and the car is in top-notch condition, with everything, from the Competition Red metallic paint to the black leather interior, with red stitching and carbon fiber appointments, being showroom fresh.

The 8C Competizione is powered by the 4.7-liter V8, hooked up to a 6-speed semi-automatic transmission, that develops 450 HP and 347 lb-ft (470 Nm) of torque. The 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) takes 4.2 seconds and flat out, it will do 181 mph (291 km/h).

The McLaren 675LT Spider

Made in 2016, this 675LT Spider is advertised here. Part of a 500-unit production run, it’s finished in the MSO Bourbon paintwork, complemented by the Carbon Black upholstery, which were included in the $23,500 MSO accessories, alongside the carbon wipers and mirror caps and full carbon interior. It has only 67 miles (108 km) on the clock and can hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in 2.9 seconds and a 203 mph (326 km/h) top speed. Powering it is the 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 that develops 675 horsepower and 516 pound-feet (700 Nm) of torque.

How much?
