With much of the world in lockdown these days to contain the spread of the coronavirus, we’ve seen some rather bizarre things pop up on social media of ways people are trying to keep themselves entertained. This clip from YouTuber WhistlinDiesel shows a particularly creative way to help pass the time at home.

The YouTuber is the owner of an extensively modified Ford F-350 and has used it for an array of interesting tests. For example, he recently loaded it up with 13,000 lbs of concrete and much to our surprise, it dealt with the weight extremely well.

For this latest stunt, WhistlinDiesel used an excavator to dig a massive hole the same size as the F-350 and proceeded to bury the pickup truck under thousands of pounds of dirt.

He made sure to funnel in a large plastic pipe so the engine could be started while the truck was underground and also secured a pipe at the rear so the exhaust fumes could escape. A small opening was left where the sunroof resides to allow access in and out of the truck.

Rather than leaving the truck buried for just a few hours, he decided to leave it there for a week and in that time, there were roughly 4 inches of rain. He then proceeded to set off a few explosives above ground to test out the truck’s ability to act as an underground bunker.

It is rather painful to watch a modified Ford pickup truck like this one worth approximately $100,000 getting treated in such a way. Admittedly, it does make for rather entertaining viewing.
