There are plenty of tasteful mods available for the Chevy Corvette C5 for those owners who are not satisfied with the sports car’s factory looks.

One owner had no use for any of the aftermarket body kits available for the fifth-gen Corvette so they set about creating their own. Ladies and gentlemen, we give you the mini Corvette – or the Corvettini if you like.

Brought to our attention by a Reddit user, this is not the type of modded Corvette you see every day. Apparently, the owner had a problem with the C5’s size so they decided to cut the sports car’s unnecessarily long overhangs. That’s something that sounds easier said than done but determination is not something the creator of this chopped Corvette lacked.

While trimming the front and rear consoles, the owner also decided to give their Vette a new identity. No, the badges are still there, only the car now sports a different face with recessed headlights. We don’t know whether the pop-up headlights are still functional, as the new “design” seems to have shortened them as well.

As for the tail, the owner reduced the number of taillights by 50 percent, keeping just one of the two pairs of lamps. Another obvious change is the layout of the exhausts, with the pipes now pointing sideways. And let’s not even talk about the tiny boot lid and the likely smaller cargo capacity.

The big question is how this “diet” affects the Corvette C5’s handling. One can imagine the rear end is now much lighter and the rear wheels have way less grip – especially in the wet. But who cares about “minor” details like these when the end result is a head-turner like this?
