An extensively modified 2000 Subaru Outback, fittingly known as the ‘Superu Withoutback,’ is currently up for sale on Facebook in Bellingham, Washington.

For whatever reason, the owner of this Subaru decided the Outback’s wagon design wasn’t quite his style so he decided to turn it into a pickup truck of sorts. The conversion from wagon to pickup has seen the rear section of the cabin cut completely off and replaced with a new rear window and a 3.5-foot bed made from sheet metal and wood. It’s a very ‘home-made’ job but would allow you to haul things around without having to throw them in the trunk like you would with a normal Outback.

It’s not just the style of the ‘Superu Withoutback’ that distinguishes it from most.

For starters, the Subaru engine has been rebuilt and now includes ported heads, Delta 1500 cams, a supercharger, custom 2.5-inch exhaust, and a water/meth sprayer. We’re sure it’s an absolute hoot to drive, particularly off-road thanks to the 2-inch lift kit and 30-inch tires. Should you ever get stuck, there’s also a 3500 lb winch up front.

The listing doesn’t say how many miles the car has under its belt but we suspect it’s been driven quite a lot throughout the past 20 years. Nevertheless, the asking price of $3,000 makes it quite a compelling proposition for those on a budget that want something that looks unique, is fun to drive, and also has some nice practicalities.
