Arguably one of the most desired minivans in history, the original Volkswagen T1 is a cult vehicle, with the nicest examples fetching a lot of money on the used car market.

This particular Bulli costs about the same as a new Touareg in Germany, or €69,000 ($77,930). With a first registration that dates back to July of 1964, it was brought back to its former glory by Schontges Automobile, which is looking to part ways with it.

After it arrived at the German company, the T1 was completely disassembled. The body was stripped of the old paint job and embraced a dual-tone finish that combines the light blue and white colors, and the mechanicals were given a new lease on life. Everything, including the engine, transmission, axles and so on, was rebuilt using either restored or new components, depending on their overall condition.

All seven seats were wrapped in grey leather, with white stitching and piping, and the same material can be found on other parts of the interior, such as the door cards. The metallic dashboard is finished in white, and so are the steering wheel, gearshift knob and handbrake lever.

Powering it is the 1.5-liter engine, which develops 43 HP (44 PS / 32 kW) and is paired to a four-speed manual transmission. According to the vendor, it has 25,867 miles (41,629 km) on the odo.
