Legacy Overland is obviously proud of its latest creation, based on an ex-military Land Rover Defender 90, and judging from the images, they should be.

Classic Defenders are pretty popular choices in the restomod scene, with the end result usually being a much better car than the original.

In this case, the vehicle was pretty beat-up before Legacy Overland took over, making its transformation even more impressive.

The British off-roader is now fitted with a new 450 HP 6.2-liter V8 LS3 crate engine paired to a five-speed manual NV4500 transmission while its chassis was hot-dip galvanized to ensure its longevity.

To ensure the Defender can handle all this power, the transfer case was upgraded with a sleeved casing with heavy-duty internals, including a torque-biasing center differential and limited-slip differentials front and rear, heavy-duty half shafts, heavy-duty suspension with sway bars, and a Wilwood disc brake upgrade with six calipers up front and four at the rear.

In addition, the custom exhaust system allows the V8 engine to properly clear its throat and provide the deep rumble everyone loves.

The body is now finished in Quantum Gray with black and grey accents dotted around, including a Heritage grille and lamp bezels, ebony black side runners, and lower body diamond plating, among others.

The interior is perhaps the true highlight of this Defender, as it features a very 1980s Porsche feel. In fact, the front bucket seats come from a 930 Carrera while the upholstery is Porsche’s period-correct Pasha Blue on a silver pattern, accented with blue leather including the dashboard. The walls and roof are covered in charcoal suede while the wood steering wheels is a Momo Indy.
