Mazda will start accepting orders for the new BT-50 in Australia on October 1, but in the meantime, they have announced the official pricing and specification for the pickup truck that is based on the Isuzu D-MAX.

Available in Dual Cab Chassis and Dual Cab Pickup versions and in three trim levels dubbed the XT, XTR and GT, it starts at AU$44,090 ($32,004) and goes up to AU$59,990 (US$43,545) for the range-topper.

Standard gear includes 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlamps, air conditioning, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, smartphone integration, Bluetooth, DAB+ digital radio, reversing camera, power-adjustable side mirrors, power windows and so on.

The base BT-50 is also equipped with a wide range of safety systems, such as the autonomous emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, lane keeping, lane departure warning, dynamic stability control, hill-descent and hill-launch assists, rear-cross traffic alert, turn assist and cruise control (manual gearbox) or adaptive cruise control (automatic models).

The XTR adds LED headlamps with auto-leveling, LED front fog lamps, LED DRLs, 18-inch alloy wheels, side steps, keyless entry, power-folding mirrors, 9-inch infotainment system, sat-nav, dual-zone climate control, leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear knob and auto-dimming interior mirror.

Features such as the front parking sensors, chrome side mirror caps with heating function, remote engine start in models equipped with the automatic transmission, heated front seats, brown leather upholstery and electrically adjustable driver’s seat are included in the XTR.

Power is supplied by a 3.0-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel that makes 192 HP (195 PS / 140 kW) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque between 1,600 and 2,600 rpm. The engine is available with a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission in two- and four-wheel drive configurations.
