Last June, Porsche unveiled the new 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition, and it has now released a video showcasing the car and the process behind its creation.

The clip, dubbed ‘The Understanding of Coolness,’ provides a detailed look at the car as well as the history of Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur. There’s no denying that the 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition is eye-catching and, with just 992 examples bound for the production line, quite exclusive to boot.

Adorning the exterior of the limited-edition model is a model-specific Cherry Metallic paint that has been paired with a white motorsport-inspired livery. The Heritage Design Edition also includes a 1963 Porsche crest on the front bumper, gold Targa badges and a set of 20- and 21-inch Carrera Exclusive Design wheels that also feature black painted calipers.

Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur left no stone unturned when creating the limited edition and has adorned the cabin with two-tone red and cream leather. This color combination has been designed to be reminiscent of the 356 and is complemented by a leather and microfiber roofliner as well as an individually numbered plaque. All 992 examples also leave the factory with a tachometer and a Sport Chrono stopwatch with green backlighting.

No modifications have been made to the powertrain. Consequently, the 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition features a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter flat-six producing 443 hp and 390 lb-ft (528 Nm) of torque. This engine is coupled to an eight-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission delivering power to all four wheels.

U.S. pricing for the limited-run 911 starts at $180,600 excluding a $1,350 delivery, processing and handling fee.
