Like practically every automaker out there, Ferrari has embraced electrification, first with the LaFerrari hypercar back in 2013, and last year, with the SF90 Stradale.

More recently, mules believed to be packing another electrified powertrain have been spied testing in Europe, with the latest being this one that was seen at the Prancing Horse’s Fiorano racetrack in Italy.

Although it sports many body parts from a 488, it sounds quite different than the latter’s twin-turbocharged 3.9-liter V8. The rumor mill says that it sports a twin turbo V6 with an unknown displacement backed up by one or more electric motors , with power going either to the rear or to all four wheels.

Truth be told, we cannot be certain that it actually features such a layout, but the yellow warning stickers on the bonnet and engine cover do indicate that it packs an electrified powertrain.

Considering that it appears to be in the early stages of development, we wouldn’t expect it to debut sooner than 2022. As for the official name, rumors had it that it might bring back the iconic Dino moniker, but that plan appears to have changed, as the Italian automaker is allegedly no longer interested in reviving the name.
