The forthcoming Extreme E series is shaping up to be one of the most exciting new racing championships and will include many familiar faces.

Most notably, ex-Formula 1 drivers Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button, and Nico Rosberg have all established their own teams for the championship. Recently, Rosberg and his team had the first opportunity to test out their vehicle for the first time.

All vehicles competing in the series feature the same mechanical components. As such, they pump out 550 hp and can sprint to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.5 seconds although during testing, power has been capped at 50 per cent. Teams are able to customize the bodywork of their vehicles. Rosberg’s team, dubbed Rosberg Xtreme Racing, has a black and aqua-colored livery. Competing for the team will be 3-time FIA World Rallycross Champion Johan Kristoffersson and Australian Rally Championship winner Molly Taylor.
