The Clayton County Sheriff’s Department arrested more than 100 people gathered in a Sam’s Club parking lot on Sunday, March 14 for activities relating to alleged street racing.

Police surrounded the parking lot, laying down spike strips at every exit, and rounded up those in attendance following reports of dangerous driving.

Along with the arrests, the Sheriff’s department reports that at least 48 vehicles were towed away from the scene while four firearms were confiscated. Of those arrested, 75 were adults and charged with loitering or prowling. Along with the adults, 26 juveniles were also arrested and their parents charged with curfew violation.

A grey Dodge Charger Hellcat fled the scene. The car was chased by a Sheriff’s Deputy and lost its bumper following an attempted pit maneuver. Once the vehicles neared a populated area the pursuit was ended and license plate information collected. The department has said it will execute a warrant for the driver’s arrest unless he turns himself in.

Clayton County is located just south of Atlanta, Georgia, and police in the area have been working to crack down on what they call street racing activity. Earlier this month, Atlanta police released aerial footage of cars gathered in a Kroger parking lot on February 21, reports Fox5 Atlanta.

After one vehicle did donuts and burnouts, its driver was arrested on charges of reckless driving and his vehicle was impounded.
