Most car owners would think their vehicles are relatively safe left parked in their driveways, but as this security camera footage from a house in the U.S. shows, not even driveways are safe from bad drivers.

This video has been doing the rounds on social media in recent days and shows the driver of a silver minivan drifting of the road and slamming into a white second-generation Mazda RX-7. The force of this impact crumples the front driver’s-side quarter panel and spins the Japanese sports car around. Things didn’t stop there.

For whatever reason, the driver of the minivan doesn’t hit the brakes after this initial impact and actually continues to accelerate, pushing the Mazda out of their way and hitting two other vehicles parked in the driveway. Finally, after causing so much carnage, the minivan eventually grinds to a halt.

A close look at the minivan reveals that its airbags were deployed in the multiple collisions and that its front end, including the bumper and headlights, was torn off when it hit the RX-7.

For the sake of the owner of the Mazda, and the other two vehicles involved in the crash, we hope that the minivan driver had insurance and will be able to pay for all of the repairs.

It’s hard to say just why the minivan driver swerved off the road the way they did, but one possible explanation is that they had a medical episode.
