Jeep is about to renew the second generation Compass in Europe, with the mid-cycle refresh debuting shortly.

The live unveiling of the compact SUV will be streamed over the web and you can watch the feed down below starting at 6:00 a.m. EST (12:00 p.m. CET).

According to Jeep, the 2021 Compass “is a completely new model, with major changes to all its features and specs, including its style, technology, safety, sustainability and functionality”. While that might not tell us much, it is understood to mirror the looks of China’s model that debuted last year at the Guangzhou Auto Show.

Thus, it should feature a very similar (if not identical) front end, with a wider lower grille, sportier air intakes and repositioned fog lamps. The Chinese Compass also sports a redesigned dashboard panel inside, with a two-tier layout and a tablet-like 10.25-inch infotainment system sitting in the middle. There is also a 10.1-inch digital instrument cluster, new steering wheel that no longer looks like it was lifted from the Renegade, new HVAC controls, revised gearshift lever and a wireless charging pad.

It will be interesting to see how many of these changes will be adopted by Europe’s facelifted 2021 Compass, which is also expected with extra electrified powertrains, in addition to a seven-seat model that is in the pipeline. This version is rumored to go on sale under the Grand Compass or Patriot names, though it is yet unknown whether it will be shown today next to the five-seater.
