Ford’s all-electric F-150 Lightning pickup has finally arrived, but it doesn’t have much in common with those that have previously worn the Lightning badge.

In the new F-150, not only has Ford used the Lightning name for an all-electric truck, but unlike past models with the same moniker, it doesn’t offer a 2-door, short bed configuration. In this video, digital artist TheSketchMonkey attempts to remedy the latter as he redesigns the new electric pickup to be more in line with its predecessors.

There were two generations of the F-150 Lightning before this one, and both were only offered in the aforementioned 2-door, short bed configuration with a big all-American V8. And while the engine may be able to be overlooked by many due to the electric version’s impressive power figures, some could still clamoring for the classic Lightning silhouette.

The redesign starts with the 2-door cab. TheSketchMonkey first takes the C-pillar (which will become the B-pillar) and moves it forward to just behind the front door. Moving on to the bed, he duplicates the existing one and moves it up to meet the new B-pillar. As a finishing touch for this stage of the redesign, he adds some details along the bed cut line and running boards.

After the body changes were done, he added some of the all-important sportiness found on the previous Lightning models in the form of new wheels and brakes, wider tires, a front splitter, and a slightly lower ride height. You can watch the full redesign process in the video below.
