Ford is working to fix an issue with the 2021 Bronco that triggers a whistling sound at speeds above 30 mph (48 km/h).

While customer deliveries of the Bronco started recently, it hasn’t taken long for owners to start noticing some problems. For example, some owners are reporting issues with the removable hardtop roof panels, while others have taken to social media to express their displeasure at whistling sounds coming from the hood area.

Ford has now issued a technical service bulletin for 2021 Bronco Big Bend and Outer Banks models that should rectify the issue.

A screenshot of the TSB was shared online to the Bronco6G forum and states that as the whistle noise can be eliminated by taping off the gap between the hood and the grille opening, there may be an issue with the hood seal design. Ford goes on to state that it is currently working on a new hood seal design that will be available in October 2021. It instructs dealerships to tell customers that they can continue to drive their vehicles and once the part becomes available, they will be able to schedule an appointment to have it fitted.

However, some users on the forum aren’t convinced that the grille is to blame and speculate that it could be an issue with the wing mirrors of the Bronco. The only way to know for sure is for Bronco Big Bend and Outer Banks models to be tested with the updated hood seal design. If the whistling sound persists, then the wing mirrors could be to blame.
