There’s a scene in the 2006 Pixar movie Cars when the titular, er… cars, finally get to drive on a brand new patch of freshly paved road. The lowrider goes low, the Fiat 500 waxes poetic, and the tow truck supposes that even the roads on the moon aren’t so smooth.

I imagine that’s what the driver of this first-gen Honda Fit (or, more likely, “Jazz”) imagined would happen when they pulled onto this freshly-paved section of road. Unfortunately, the road was a little too freshly paved and instead of enjoying a smooth road, they ruined it for everyone.

The road, still fresh, has ruts carved into it by the car’s wheels. It also probably does quite a number on the car’s undercarriage.

The video, posted to Reddit, shows neither what led to the event, nor what followed it but, if we had to guess, we’d imagine quite a bit of extra construction is what followed this stupid decision.

According to the construction workers in the comment section, this kind of thing happens more often than you’d think. Guess some people really don’t do much thinking when they’re behind the wheel…
