If the latest reports are true, a special one-off from Ferrari Special Projects could be unveiled in November.

Over the past year or so, there have been some LaFerrari-based prototypes spied testing in Italy, prompting speculation the automaker could be readying a successor to its hybrid hypercar. However, it now appears that these prototypes might have been used in the development of this exclusive one-off which will be based around the LaFerrari.

Users over at the Ferrari Chat forums, including noted Ferrari historian Marcel Massini, state that this new car will have the same carbon fiber monocoque as the LaFerrari, will be mid-engined, and will use the 6.5-liter naturally-aspirated V12 of the 812 Competizione, albeit modified to produce more power. This also means that the one-off won’t be a hybrid like the LaFerrari.

Additionally, it is reported the car will use Ferrari’s latest eight-speed dual-clutch transmission sending power to the rear wheels.

Then there is design. Those fortunate enough to commission one-offs from Ferrari have virtually limitless ways to make their vehicles stand out and according to a moderator at the Ferrari Chat forum, the car will take styling inspired by the stunning 1967 330 P4, one of the most iconic Ferrari models ever conceived. The famed Glickenhaus P4/5 also took inspiration from the 330 P4, as well as the 1971 Ferrari 512 S and 1993 333 SP.

It is understood that this latest one-off will be presented at the Ferrari World Finals that will be held at Mugello from November 16-22, 2021.
