The Lunaz Group has introduced EV-converted Aston Martin DB6s to its line of classic conversions. The DB6 is the latest addition to their range, with previous projects including icons from the likes of Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Range Rover, and Jaguar.

Having completed their first electrified Aston Martin,  the company will open its order books for a “highly limited” production run. Prices are yet to be confirmed, but for such a unique and rare example of a car, those interested are expected to see the asking price cruise past $1 million, plus local taxes.

Deliveries are scheduled to begin in early 2023. The dully electric DB6s will be offered in both right- and left-hand drive to cater to a global clientele. The company is also inviting clients to commission their DB4s and DB5s.

Under the supervision of Managing Director and Technical Lead, Jon Hilton, the amount of work put into the electrification process is immense. Each DB6 undergoes a bare-metal restoration and re-engineering process to ensure that clients are presented with a finished product that is usable, reliable, and most importantly, sustainable.

The cars will then be given an arsenal of modern technology, including better braking and suspension, air conditioning, and state-of-the-art infotainment systems with navigation and WiFi connectivity. So far, so divisive, as many cherish originality when it comes to valuable classic cars.

But, of course, the most contentious change of the entire project is the electric powertrain. The powertrains are developed in-house by Lunaz themselves, with what is claimed to be the highest standard European-sourced Tier 1 battery cells and motors. As with other Lunaz creations, the DB6 will have a battery capacity between 80-120kWh and a maximum range of around 255 miles (410 km).

As with any ultra-exclusive car, Lunaz has already addressed the high probability that each client will want their DB6 tailor-made to suit their taste and personality, which is where Design Director Jen Holloway plays her role. Holloway has an impressive background as a lead in Aston Martin’s Q-Branch. Jen and her team will be responsible for hosting clientele at the Lunaz HQ in Silverstone, where they will then work together to bring customers’ mental image of their DB6 to life, allowing every single exterior and interior surface of the car to be reimagined. Color palettes and materials will be visualized using traditional 2D drawings as well as advanced 3D modeling.

On the topic of materials, Lunaz is confident that their client’s need for more contemporary designs will allow them to explore materials completely free of animal-derived materials. In fact, Lunaz plan to take their commitment towards a greener future one step further, offering 100% recycled material throughout the cabin environment — although if you’d like to stick with tradition, that option is available too.
