The Mazda family is set to grow with the imminent unveiling of the new CX-50 SUV.

The Mazda CX-50 has been teased in a short video shared to social media by the Japanese automaker. This 15-second teaser depicts the SUV driving through a humid rainforest and previews it moving through a row of trees. We can also see that the CX-50 is carrying a canoe/kayak on its roof.

Mazda first revealed that a new SUV dubbed the CX-50 would arrive in an announcement made in October. It confirmed the SUV will form part of the brand’s Small Product group and share its platform with the Mazda3 and CX-30. It is also tipped to be produced at the Mazda-Toyota joint venture factory in Huntsville, Alabama and is thought to have been designed specifically for the North American . As such, the teaser video was posted by both Mazda Canada and Mazda U.S. to Twitter.

The video ends with a statement reading “there is always a new terrain” and confirms the vehicle will be revealed on November 15, 2021.

A plethora of other new SUVs will follow the CX-50 to the market. These will include a two-row CX-60 and a three-row CX-80 that have been designed with Europe and Japan in mind. Additionally, two-row CX-70 and a three-row CX-90 models are being developed for the North American market and will be slightly larger than the CX-60 and CX-80.
