This V8-Powered Radio Flyer Wagon Is For Adults Who Never Grew Up

The steel Radio Flyer wagon was introduced in 1927 and it’s gone on to become a classic piece of Americana that is still in production today.

That brings us to this massive version of the wagon, which will be auctioned by Mecum next month.

Details are sadly lacking, but the giant replica has been transformed into a “Kansas City Chiefs Party Wagon” that seats up to 12 people including the driver. As you can see, it features a wagon-inspired exterior with wooden rails, a classic red paint job and Radio Flyer badging.

The model also has chrome wheels, which are backed up by disc brakes. More interestingly, the wagon appears to be street legal as it has been equipped with headlights, brake lights, turn signals, and a horn.

Elsewhere, we can see a short windshield and front bucket seats that certainly don’t prioritize comfort. The basic design continues out back as passengers sit on a wooden bench with Kansas City Chiefs cushions. While the rear seats aren’t glamorous, they appear to have storage compartments located underneath them.

Talking about things underneath, there’s a 5.7-liter V8 engine hiding under the body. There’s no word on specifications, but it’s connected to an automatic transmission that sends power to a Ford 8.8 rear axle with 3.73 gearing. Of course, performance isn’t really the point as this mid-engined wagon is more about standing out from the crowd.
