Parking in a two-car garage is very easy but the owner of this particular BMW X1 has decided to make life difficult for themselves by parking sideways.
Video of the BMW driver’s bizarre parking antics were recently shared to TikTok and show the driver precariously pulling out from the garage. A follow-up video was then posted online, this time showing how the owner carefully reverses into the garage.
As you would imagine, parking sideways takes a lot longer than pulling in and out like a normal person. However, the driver has obviously been parking like this for quite some time and only needs about 1 minute to reverse in and another minute to drive out.

Video of the bizarre parking job was quickly re-shared to Reddit and in just one day had received more than 44,000 upvotes. Like us, many Redditors have been left confused as to why someone would park like this but there is one reason we can think of.
It is possible that the X1 owner lives in an area where burglaries are quite common and doesn’t want to risk someone breaking into the garage and making off with the SUV. One Redditor claims that his father used to park sideways in his garage just like this when going on vacation to keep his motorcycle safe, so it’s possible the owner of this BMW also wants to keep something especially safe in the garage.
