The automotive industry is unlikely to see a vehicle quite like the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren ever again and it seems some collectors are finally realizing just how cool it is.

One SLR McLaren Roadster has just been listed up for auction through Bring a Trailer. It is located in Fairfield, Connecticut and is desirable not just because of how pristine it is but also because it has only ever been driven 3,700 miles (5,954 km) since new.

The listing reveals that the car was delivered new to Mercedes-Benz of South Bay in Torrance, California and was purchased by the seller and moved to Connecticut in 2018. It is being sold with two keys, manufacturer’s literature, a clean Carfax report, and a clean title in the seller’s name.

Adorning the exterior of the car is a color dubbed Crystal Laurite Silver Metallic, one of the most popular shades available for the SLR McLaren. It continues to rock the standard 19-inch silver turbine alloy wheels wrapped in 255/35 front and 295/30 rear Pirelli Sottozero tires.

The interior of the car features carbon fiber-backed bucket seats which, interestingly, were available in different sizes from the factory. This SLR has an XXL sized seat for the driver and an XL sized seat for the passenger. Adorning most interior surfaces is black Silver Arrow leather while a number of carbon fiber components also catch the eye. Among the key features found inside are a Bose six-disc CD stereo and an integrated hands-free telephone.

Powering the SLR is a supercharged 5.4-liter V8 pumping out 617 hp and 575 lb-ft (779 Nm) of torque. This V8 works alongside a five-speed AMG Speedshift automatic transmission driving the rear wheels.

A look at the car’s window sticker reveals that this SLR McLaren Roadster had an MSRP of $495,000 when new, but this particular car had a $513,100 sticker price when accounting for the $9,950 Black Silver Arrow Leather, $850 red brake calipers, $2,750 destination and delivery charge, and the $3,000 gas guzzler tax.
