As the crisis in Ukraine continues, two of the biggest supercar makers are making moves to support those affected. Both Ferrari and Lamborghini have decided to completely suspend all business with Russia with the former also donating one million Euros to support Ukrainians in need. The latter has also committed to making a donation, though no specific number was announced.

In general, Lamborghini has been a bit murky with regard to exactly what it’s doing. It says that the aid it’s sending will go directly to the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), a long-standing partner of the Volkswagen Group.

There are no specifics about business with Russia aside from that it has “been put on hold.” To its credit, the supercar brand did express its sentiments with regard to the tragedy: ” Automobili Lamborghini is deeply saddened by the events in Ukraine and observes the situation with grave concern. Lamborghini hopes for a swift end of the hostilities and a return to diplomacy.”

That falls directly in line with many other automakers including Volkswagen, Porsche, Chevrolet, and Ford who have all done the same. Ferrari, for its part, has been more candid about its plans: it’s suspending business and production of vehicles for the Russian market until further notice.

“Ferrari stands alongside everyone in Ukraine affected by this ongoing humanitarian crisis”, stated Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna. “While we hope for a rapid return to dialogue and a peaceful solution, we cannot remain indifferent to the suffering of everyone affected. Our thoughts and support go out to them. We are playing our small part alongside the institutions that are bringing immediate relief to this situation.”

That small part is a donation of a million euros that “will fund international humanitarian projects supporting Ukraine as well as local initiatives focusing on the reception of refugees in the Italian region.” Ferrari also says that some funds will be used for fleeing Ukrainians that will be hosted in the area surrounding Maranello.
