There are few Maserati models that are quite as iconic or rare as the MC12 and that’s what makes this video of one playing around in the snow all the more entertaining.

The owner of this MC12 recently attended a particularly exclusive event in Switzerland dubbed The ICE St. Moritz. The event has been held on an annual basis in recent years and brings together a rare of rare and exclusive exotic cars to an area that’s routinely bathed in snow. Drivers don’t just put their cars on static display during the event but can also spend some time driving around the track. That’s exactly what this owner did.

Evidently, this MC12 hasn’t been fitted with tires designed to be used in the snow, hence why it was ferociously spinning up the rear wheels while only moving at a snail’s pace. It may not be very effective but the owner was clearly enjoying himself and able to showcase the MC12’s extraordinary soundtrack.

The Maserati MC12 is famously based around the Ferrari Enzo and outfitted with a screaming 6.0-liter naturally-aspirated V12 pumping out 621 hp and 481 lb-ft (652 Nm) of torque, all of which is sent to the rear wheels.

Maserati decided to build the MC12 not to appease millionaire car collectors but instead to go racing which meant it had to build at least 25 road cars to meet homologation requirements. The Italian marque ended up producing exactly 25 cars for road use and later released the Versione Corse variant, created specifically for racetrack use for those that thought the ‘standard’ MC12 wasn’t quite insane enough.
