For many of us, the very notion of getting a seat in a Ferrari would be exciting. Others, though, have so much money that they can’t just be satisfied with a Ferrari from the factory. Must be tough but, for them, there is Carlex.

The Ferrari 812 GTS bespoke conversion by Carlex takes what is already an exquisitely luxurious vehicle and pumps it up by working on nearly every aspect of the interior.

Per Carlex, “the guidelines were crystal clear: the new interior was to reflect the classic vintage-inspired style and the sporty character of this unique car.” It just needed add more to ensure that no one could outdo its owners.

In order to achieve that, the tuners have turned to exotic materials. The seats, door cards, and other parts of the car are finished in kudu leather. The material comes from the Kudu, a species of antelope found in eastern and southern Africa. Carlex claims that the leather is considered sustainable because South Africa has mandated a cull in order to control the animal’s population and the hides would otherwise be going to waste.

Better still, because the animal is wild, its skin is cut and scarred in unrepeatable ways, making each piece unique and giving it a vintage look. For use in this Ferrari, the leather has a warm, caramel shade that plays well against the grey exterior of the vehicle.

Elsewhere, Carlex has opted for black leather detailing to contrast the caramel interior, which comes from buffalos, instead of cows or kudus. To top it all off, the interior also gets unique seams, laser-engraved motifs, and metal badges. All of the plastic parts, meanwhile, have been painted gloss black and the exterior has been adorned with decals designed to highlight the sporty character of the car.

And sporty it is, indeed. Reasonably, Carlex has decided that Ferrari’s engineers did a bang-up job and has left the 6.5-liter V12 engine alone. That means that it still makes 789 HP (588 kW/800 PS) at 8,500 rpm and 529 lb-ft (718 Nm) of torque at 7,000 rpm, which should be more than enough to distract you from the leather, no matter how soft and unique it is.
