Christmas has come early for Porsche and Paul Walker fans alike with the announcement that a 1973 911 Carrera RS 2.7 owned by the late actor is heading to auction in August.

The 911 Carrera RS 2.7 is widely regarded as one of the finest 911 models ever produced and the celebrity owner of this one will only add to its value. It is being sold with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity and a copy of the title issued to AE (Always Evolving) Collection which Walker established with Roger Rodas.

Porsche built the 911 RS 2.7 to compete in the FIA Group 3 Grand Touring series and to meet homologation requirements, had to also build a road-going version. It originally intended on capping production to 500 units but strong demand saw that number grow to 1,580 cars.

Walker’s car was built in March 1973 and is equipped with the Touring package. It is finished in Light Yellow complete with black accents and continues to sport the original chrome trim on the windows and headlights. Mecum’s listing also notes that the drivetrain, brakes, and suspension have all been restored by Jerry Woods Enterprises.

The interior is in excellent condition just like the exterior, thanks in part to it too being restored. It features black sport bucket seats with white Pepita Houndstooth inserts. You won’t find many creature comforts in the cabin but one could argue that only adds to the driver-focused appeal of the car.

When it was launched, the 911 Carrera RS 2.7 was the fastest 911 available thanks to its 2.7-liter naturally aspirated flat-six that delivered 210 hp while coupled to a five-speed manual transmission driving the rear wheels. It can hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in 5.5 seconds, which is still a respectable figure some 50 years later.

Walker’s car will be sold with 93,774 km (58,268 miles) on the clock.
