Few automotive journalists routinely profess their love for the Porsche 911 as frequently as Chris Harris, so it comes as somewhat of a surprise that he has just listed his 2022 Porsche 911 GT3 Touring for sale.

The British journalist hasn’t owned the sports car for all that long but also happens to own a 991-generation 911 GT3 Touring and purchased the 992 model knowing that he would either sell it or the 991, depending on which car he preferred. He ultimately decided that he likes the 991 more, mentioning in an Instagram video that it is better suited to British roads.

Harris didn’t originally intend on selling the car on Collecting Cars either, despite being a co-founder of the auction website. Instead, he reached out to Porsche Cars GB and asked whether he could sell them the GT3 Touring in exchange for a new Cayman GT4 RS. They didn’t seem interested in making such a deal happen, prompting Harris to put the car up for sale.

Harris’s vehicle is finished in a Paint-to-Sample Dark Sea Blue finish and features a carbon fiber roof while riding on silver 20-inch front and 21-inch rear center-lock wheels. It also has Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes, a front axle lift system, and has only been driven 6,468 miles (10,409 km).

Chris Harris Is Selling His Porsche 992 GT3 Touring

While the 992-generation 911 GT3 Touring is a near-perfect sports car out of the box, Harris has had the car’s seat pads retrimmed by Porsche upholstery specialist Justin Placek with a dramatic blue chequered ‘tartan’ pattern. Elsewhere, the bolsters and headrests of the seats are finished in red leather, as are the car’s door panels and large parts of the dashboard. Custom side sill plaques reading ‘Wingless’ have also been fitted.

At the time of writing, bidding on the car had already hit the £190,000 ($234,650) mark, significantly more than the car’s £127,820 ($157,858) base price in the UK.
