German tuner Brabus has teamed up with KTM to create what it’s calling a luxurious, “naked bike.” Powered by a 1,301 cc V-twin engine that makes 177 hp (132 kW/180 PS) at 8,000 rpm, the tuner says that it will be making just 290 of these mean-looking motorcycles.

Based on the KTM 1290 Super Duke R EVO, the two companies’ relationship started last year, on the same bike. For 2023, Brabus has updated the appearance of the motorcycle to make it even more subtle and stealthy.

Only the second time that the German tuner has worked on a motorcycle, the Brabus 1300 R Edition 23 is offered in two special paint colors—Superblack and Stealth Gray—and features an assortment of carbon fiber body elements.

These include the headlight mask’s side faring, the power domes, and more, which are made of exposed carbon fiber. Brabus’ signature striping, meanwhile, emerges from the redesigned air scoops that are made of pre-preg carbon fiber and help frame the motorcycle’s unique front end. Along the sides, meanwhile, the bike gets custom foot pegs and dual-pipe exhaust.

Just like the cars that Brabus modifies, the 1300 R Edition gets the brand’s Monoblock Z forged wheels that are finished in a color called “Platinum Black.” These help contribute to the blacked-out look of the bike, and are also stronger than the standard wheels.

The seat, meanwhile, is reupholstered to feature Brabus’s “Crest” stitch pattern and can be heated to keep your buns toasty on the road. A black painted frame helps complete the blacked out look and is unique to this edition of the motorcycle.

The latest WP APEX semi-active suspension technology helps give riders the most comfortable or aggressive ride possible, depending on the situation. With five available settings—Comfort, Street, Sport, Track, and Advanced—riders can choose the mode that matches their mood, or use “Auto,” which allows the bike to pick the best settings for the scenario.

Limited to just 290 units, 145 each in black and gray, Brabus says that the 1300 R Edition 23 will only be sold in select markets. Prices for the bike start at €42,500 (US$45,600 at current exchange rates) in Germany.
