Australian engineering firm Premcar has previewed its new Nissan Patrol Warrior, an uprated version of the SUV that’s been designed with even greater off-roading capabilities.

The Melbourne-based company first grabbed the attention of local Nissan buyers with the launch of its Navara N-Trek Warrior in 2019. That model was then followed up by the facelifted Navara Pro-4X Warrior in 2021 and soon, the Patrol Warrior will be available.

There are plenty of upgrades that differentiate the Patrol Warrior from a standard model. For example, suspension changes have been made to lift the ride height by 50 mm (1.9 inches) and improve its off-roading capabilities without upsetting on-road dynamics and handling. The track is also 40 mm (1.6 inches) wider than a standard Patrol. The company says the new suspension also gives the 4×4 excellent articulation.

Premcar has also fitted injection-molded fender flares and blacked out the front grille and wing mirror caps. In addition, the Patrol Warrior includes a bright red bash plate and a new wheel and tire package with 18-inch wheels and 34.4-inch all-terrain tires. Perhaps the highlight of the upgrade package is the bi-modal exhaust with side-exiting tailpipes that can be driven in either a quiet mode or in a throaty mode that lets you enjoy the 5.6-liter naturally-aspirated V8. A new rear bumper and tow bar assembly have also been developed.

Rounding out the changes are new Alcantara components throughout the cabin in place of the standard woodgrain and gloss black accents.

Premcar has not yet said when the Patrol Warrior will reach local Nissan dealerships nor has it said how much it will cost. What we can say is that it certainly won’t be cheap given that the entry-level Patrol Ti starts at AU$93,297 (US$63,233).
