Although it has been around for around 25 years, Kahn attributes much of its success to the first custom Range Rover it customized 20 years ago. Now, the company is celebrating that project with a new custom Range Rover and a whole subbrand dedicated to the British SUV.

The Fintail is the first project introduced under Kahn’s “Racing Green” department, and adds subtle flair to the minimalistic new Range Rover. The result of extensive research and planning, company founder Azfal Kahn says that the new vehicle has been a long time coming.

As Kahn evolved, coach-built projects such as Vengeance and The Flying Huntsman became a focus at HQ, leading us to take a five-year hiatus from Range Rover projects,” he said. “With the arrival of the latest Range Rover comes an exciting opportunity to return to the roots of Kahn, while focusing firmly on the future of automotive fashion.”

The Fintail Celebrates 20 Years Of Range Rover Customizing At Kahn

The vehicle draws inspiration from a number of sources, including other famous Range Rovers, as well as aeronautic innovations that defined the 1940s. Perhaps the most attention grabbing part of the design is the choice of wheels.

Measuring in at 24-inches, the three spoke rims are a bold choice for Kahn. However, the company says that they were inspired by the 1995 Range Rover that was driven by Princess Diana, making them as historically correct as they are avant-garde.

For the body, the company has added a front bumper, side skirts, and diffusers. The new elements at the back and along the sides are particularly influenced by the study of aerodynamics. Kahn says that inspirations ranged from modern jet fighters’ stabilizing fins to the ground effects race cars of the ’80s.

Inside, the seats receive diamond-pattern stitching in a variety of sizes, giving them visual intrigue. All of the updates are part of the Racing Green program, which is dedicated entirely to the Range Rover.

Prices for the parts have not yet been revealed, but customers can join a waiting list now at Kahn’s Racing Green website.
