As we are patiently waiting for Alfa Romeo to unveil its much-anticipated mid-engined supercar, the Australian arm of the Italian automaker asked fans to put their imagination to the test using the power of artificial intelligence.

While the upcoming model is expected to be a two-door mid-engined supercar inspired by the gorgeous Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale from 1967, the fictional Alfa Romeo models can be anything you wish for. The brand’s dedicated website is already online with a few examples to get fans inspired and motivated. Among those, we find low-slung supercars, sexy grand tourers, retro-flavored sedans, and even a coupe SUV.

The renderings can be created with an input of 6 keywords, describing the Alfa Romeo model of your dreams and the environment in which you would like it to be presented. Those who wish to participate can comment on the automaker’s Instagram post. Alfa Romeo Australia will create the AI-generated renderings based on the 6-word submissions and then share the best results to their Instagram profile.

Besides a couple of cryptic teasers showing the grille, taillight, and steering wheel of the upcoming model, Alfa Romeo has been coy on details, with the latest announcement saying that “specifications are highly classified”.

Although nothing is official, its underpinnings could be shared with the Maserati MC20, which uses a carbon-fiber monocoque. As for the engine, the twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6 from the Giulia GTA is a possible contestant. The latest reports suggest that the model will adopt the 33 nameplate, have a top speed of 333 km/h (206 mph), and be produced in a limited number of 33 units with a price tag of over €1 million ($1.1 million).

Thankfully, all of our questions will be answered next week so stay tuned for more information. The big unveiling will take place at the Alfa Romeo Museum in Italy, where the original source of inspiration is kept.
