A few months have passed since we last saw the 2025 Audi SQ5, but it’s back in the news as another prototype has been caught undergoing testing.

Dressed in swirly camouflage, the redesigned crossover adopts a more curvaceous front end with a smaller grille. The new look is complimented by slimmer headlights and a larger lower intake with a honeycomb mesh insert. The latter can also be found on the new side intakes, which feature a single horizontal bar.

Besides featuring a more cohesive front end, the redesigned crossover wears flowing bodywork with subtle curves. We can also see a familiar greenhouse as well as what appears to be a longer wheelbase. Elsewhere, the prototype rides on lightweight wheels that are backed up by sizeable discs.

The 2025 Audi SQ5 Is Getting A Much Needed Glow Up

Out back, we can see slender taillights with eye-catching graphics. They’re joined by a more adventurous liftgate, which features a modernized design as well as more expressive detailing. The crossover also has a familiar four-tailpipe exhaust system and a sportier rear bumper.

Previous spy photos have shown the model will have a tiered dashboard and a new steering wheel. They’ll be joined by a digital instrument cluster and a larger infotainment system that features a squared off display. Further below, there will be a revamped center stack with slender air vents and new switchgear. Drivers will also find a minimalist shifter.

Performance specifications remain a mystery, but the current crossover has a turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine developing 349 hp (260 kW / 374 PS) and 369 lb-ft (500 Nm) of torque. It’s connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission, which enables the US-spec SQ5 to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 4.7 seconds before hitting a top speed of up to 155 mph (250 km/h).

In Europe, the model has a 3.0-liter TDI engine developing 336 hp (251 kW / 341 PS) and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm) of torque. It enables the crossover to hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in 5.1 seconds.
