It’s a new year, and that means new car shows. In addition to the 2024 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) that’s going on in Las Vegas right now, Japanese automakers are preparing for the Tokyo Auto Salon, across the Pacific. Mitsubishi will be bringing a collection of modified concepts to the event that are rugged and perfectly suited to winter weather.

The automaker’s primary focus will naturally be on the new 2024 Triton. The new pickup truck will be presented in the “Yamabuki Orange Metallic” paint color. Additionally, various accessories will be showcased, such as a tonneau cover, door sill garnishes, fender guards, and more.

More excitingly, the new “Snow Shredder Concept” reveals how the Triton might appear once it’s in the hands of adventurous snowboarders. Featuring a snorkel for fording icy rivers, bumper and underbody guards, as well as beadlock-capable wheels, it seems fully prepared for off-piste adventures.

Once you’ve reached the mountaintop, there are side-mounted compartments, a roof rack, and roof box to hold all the gear you need to hit the slopes, and then get back off the mountain in one piece.

Furthermore, Mitsubishi will also unveil the Ralliart-prepared version of the Triton. Positioned as a mild alternative to the Ford Ranger Raptor without the power upgrades, this truck is equipped with a snorkel, rally-style mud guards, mud-terrain tires, and it boasts a distinctive Ralliart livery.

And that’s not the only vehicle that feature the racing team’s colors. The Delica D5 “Asia Cross Country Rally 2023” will also have a spot at Mitsubishi’s booth. It features mud flaps, aggressive tires, and it gets a roof mounted basket with additional trail lights in front of it.

Rugged performance will be a prevailing theme for Mitsubishi, as they showcase off-road capable versions of the Outlander, the Delica D.5, and the Delica mini. The SUV, named the Outlander PHEV Active Field, is the most understated of the trio. It features roof-mounted crossbars, numerous black accents, including multi-spoke wheels with chunky tires, and a hood graphic.

Meanwhile, the Delica D.5 and the Delica mini both feature what Mitsubishi is calling the Chamonix Snow Gear package. Inspired by the French ski resort town, the models get green mirror caps, rugged wheels and tires, a bumper guard, a roof rack, and roof mounted lights.

It won’t surprise you to learn that the theme of Mitsubishi’s Tokyo Auto Salon booth this year is “Let’s go on an adventure.”
