• The new Palisade’s styling will take inspiration from the new Santa Fe
  • Hyundai has made significant changes to the interior for a more luxurious feel
  • The new Palisade may drop its 3.8-liter V6 in favor of a 3.5-liter turbocharged V6.

Hyundai is working on a thorough refresh of the Palisade and a heavily-disguised prototype has been filmed up close in South Korea. While much of the SUV’s new design has been hidden from view, this video still gives us a first taste of what’s coming.

As we’ve seen with other prototypes, including cars snapped testing in the U.S., the 2026 Palisade will have an edgier design than the current model with fewer curves and more straight lines and sharp edges, much like the latest-generation Santa Fe. We can see this prototype has a thoroughly revised front grille and is also rocking new split headlights with an E-shaped signature.

The butch new looks are especially apparent when the Palisade is viewed from the side. It has angular new creases above the wheel arches and the side windows have a sharper and more aggressive design. Hyundai also appears to have revised the shape of the thick C-pillar and added a new brake light running above the rear window.

The Shorts Car channel on YouTube also managed to take a sneak peek inside the Palisade’s interior. A black sheet was pulled across the dashboard while the new seats were also covered. The only thing that was visible was the center console, which has been changed while the pattern on the leather seats is also new.

You’ll probably also notice the door panels are also new, adopting a more minimalist design with circular door handles not dissimilar to those found on the Genesis GV60 and metal speaker grilles. The simple armrests remind us of those found in the Hyundai Ioniq 5.

Beyond the overhauled exterior and interior design, the new Palisade is expected to receive a 3.5-liter turbocharged V6, replacing the naturally aspirated 3.8-liter V6 of the current model. A hybrid version with a 2.5-liter engine is also possible.
