- Renault Argentina turned a Kangoo Express van into a convertible limousine for factory tours.
- The custom van can carry nine passengers in four rows of seats, thanks to a longer wheelbase.
- It will be used once Renault’s Santa Isabel plant finishes preparations for a new compact pickup.
We always enjoy discovering bizarre conversions, especially when they come straight from a carmaker. The latest example is a bespoke convertible “limo” based on the humble Renault Kangoo Express van, created in Argentina.
Photos of the unique build were shared on social media by Pablo Sibila, President of Renault Argentina. The vehicle keeps the front and rear ends of the Kangoo Express, along with its fenders and doors. However, nearly everything else has been modified.

The roof has been cut off, and the wheelbase has been stretched to the extremes. The special model received a special wrap with the Argentinian flag colors and graphics inspired by the Renault emblem. The interior has also been modified and now holds four rows of seats.
From the photos, it appears that the Kangoo Limo can transport nine passengers in addition to the driver. The removal of the front passenger seat creates an aisle for getting into the second row, while the third and fourth rows can be accessed through the sliding door. Furthermore, the passengers at the back sit at an elevated position, allowing for greater visibility.

The donor vehicle is a rebadged version of the Dacia Dokker, which is offered as a more affordable alternative to the third-gen Renault Kangoo. In Argentina, the van is available with two powertrain options. The 1.6-liter gasoline engine produces 112 hp (84 kW / 114 PS) and 156 Nm (115 lb-ft) of torque, while the 1.5-liter diesel is good for 88 hp (66 kW / 89 PS) and 220 Nm (162 lb-ft).

So why did Renault factory workers in Argentina create the Kangoo Limo? According to their president, the one-off will provide factory tours to visitors, including school children. However, this is not possible at the moment, as the Santa Isabel plant is going through a “confidentiality period”.
The factory is preparing for the production of a new half-ton pickup for South America, previewed by the Niagara Concept in 2023. The compact truck will ride on a modular unibody architecture and might offer a hybrid powertrain option. Following the imminent debut of the new model, the Renault Kangoo Limo will officially enter service.
